This novel from the early 60s is still as funny as when read then. LDS, intense and fast-paced, without any bad words (they're pre-editted out by the author). A fun, quirky, quick read. When watching action movies or reading, I often think of what I would do when placed in similar situations because my LDS (Mormon) background would definitely inform my decisions. I don't know how he does it, but the author mixes silliness with high adventure. sorry to my dear sister Mares I just couldn't get into this book but Nick read it and liked it well enough! He doesn't share with us much of his strengths (except loyalty and humor) and so I had to wonder if they were a compatible couple or if they were just together because the adventure threw them together. I got so caught up in Charlie's world of searching for the corrupt members of staff at the Spectrum and Cobo offices and I felt as though I was right beside her as she tried to stop any threat to the auto show. After being kidnapped, coercion and drummed up criminal charges keep Eric and Rebekah on the run (mostly on adrenaline) through the Christmas holidays. Corny, but good fun...I guess you shouldn't say that when they get kidnapped, tortured, left in a warehouse with a bomb. Charlie has come a long way and she has definitely grown a lot since the first book and I didn't think that I could have loved her any more than I did before but I do, with all of my heart!
