The most affecting parts of the book for me were Quentin trying to finally process and come to terms with this as well as his evolving appreciation for his own unique gifts. Quentin and his journalist partner arrive for a weekend ghost hunting at a country house. “And some of us need to be sad. More ghosts. He stood up for himself and he didn’t back down when confronted. I have to admit, I had a little difficulty in getting started with this book. Terrific storyline entertains and amuses. Quentin is still trying to deal with a traumatic event he experienced in his youth that has cast a pall over his entire life. The entire cast of characters has assumed the status of “old friends” and I consistently become too engrossed to close my Kindle and put them away in a timely manner. The first 1/2 of the book seemed quite amateurishly written but by the second half I was interested in the story.
