Overall, I think it helps that I’m madly in love with this world and its characters, because despite wanting more from Geralt’s perspective, and having a lack of fantastical monsters, Blood of Elves was still a highly enjoyable read. I was expecting/anticipating/wanting these books to be darker.. which isn't a complaint, more of an observation. Fingers crossed! Blood of Elves is slower than The Last Wish and Sword of Destiny, but I knew that going in. I can't say in English but in Polish one of the most important advantage is beautiful language. It wasn't necessarily my intention to read a Witcher book each month, but alas.. here we are! In fact, these were some of my favourite chapters. I highly suggest that you begin your journey into the realm of The Witcher with The Last Wish, and then Sword of Destiny as they subtly introduce a vast range of characters.
