I'm not quite sure what it so special about this specific game, maybe it has something to do with the great sound design. The game looks beautiful in VR, and the sense of scale is amazing - you really dont realize how small your character is compared to these giant coral tubes and other organisms, until you've experienced it in VR. You don't need to mess with bat files or anything, so not sure what that's all about. It's one of the few VR games that I'm excited about going back to play again. Build a submarine. Sounds like Subnautica does need some more work to be truly VR friendly. This has been on my list but doesn't seem to have attracted much attention from VRers. Just found this thread as I am new to the game myself. Español - Latinoamérica (Spanish - Latin America), (https://www.nexusmods.com/subnautica/mods/173), https://www.nexusmods.com/subnautica/mods/173. Which would be a shame really, because the devs still add stuff every two months or so. It might also be about the menu design. I really want that game to be good, but for some reason my guts keep telling me this will be a total failure and will never live up to its hype .. like Spore. I'm currently running an i7-4790k, 970GTX, and 16GB DDR3, and am able to run pretty high settings at resonable frame-rates in MOST areas (lookinng at you, kelp forest). It's not a VR game unless it can be played in VR … Build your base. You also get farlands free with oculus home. It's hard to describe the feeling when you swim through a dark cave underwater and suddenly an alien jumps out at you....Great game and graphics. I got some Rift black outs, that hung the game. There is a nice sense of the unknown here, which is emphasised by the immersion of VR. This is the only game that ever made me nauseous in VR. I was enjoying swimming about in this untill I realised the PDA is essentially completely unreadable in the CV1 currently. If you are looking for a "real" game to play in VR you could do a lot worse than this. I just tried it via Revive tonight. I have 150 hours of games (VR and mixed flat mod). Text is WAAAAY too small to read, and the PDA is fixed at a certain distance from your face so you can't even lean in or out to bring it into focus. I can't comment on any VR aspects, as I'm still waiting for my Rift, my first VR device ever ... but aside from that, this game is bloody AWESOME. If you have the vive forget it.
And space games, so this should be a perfect game for me. First of all, thanks for reading this post and for developing Subnautica! Invest 20 € in Subnautica instead. This is a lot trickier in VR! I just got Subnautica last night and have put a bit of time into it. Use tools to venture deeper into the unknown, collect more resources. Rift, Old i5, GTX 970. Its not easy though...The first time I was in game for more than 15 mins I actually threw up, and I'm not one to get sick like that. Yes I have had those blackouts and it is NOT the game.. something screwy between video card and rift (btw happens sometimes between my video card and pioneer vsx-44 as well) 980TI here and on HIGHEST settings this game runs super smoothly for me.
