Reminder: Splatoween Returns To Splatoon 2 Later This Week. This sites very own review of the game failed to mention that. Innovation for the sake of innovation is dumb. [15] Yusuke Hashimoto of PlatinumGames stated they were approached by Nintendo about co-developing the game after requesting to add an Arwing-themed bonus level to Bayonetta 2. Certainly not top of the list to port to the Switch but I enjoyed Star Fox Zero quite abit. So I have been playing it all over again and going for the gold medals. I hope Nintendo gets on the ball and starts porting over some of the great games from the past with updated graphics. This would be a money tree for them. It could definitely be reworked into a game that doesn't require the gamepad, but the amount of effort that would require wouldn't be worth it in Nintendo's mind. but after STAR FOX ZERO was made, almost a year went when the Nintendo switch was made. [31] In July 2016, a free demo of the game was released on the Wii U eShop. Tell you what, find some way to output them both now running in full HD at 60fps with the pop-in removed and no other changes at all--basically like the M2 version of Virtua Racing on Switch--and them come back and tell me which is actually the superior underlying design that looks better, sounds better and is more fun to play. It’d be boring on Switch. And all fans should stop giving nintendo a pass just because "it's Nintendo". The controls did take some getting used to, though. The next Star Fox: elephvant: 66: 10/9 10:10PM: Mortal Kombat 11 - Rain Gameplay Trailer!
I'm surely the only one, but in my opinion the controls were what made the game interesting. We have Starlink on the Switch which is a lot more fun and better value in terms of the amount of content. Personally, I prefer Metroid games to be more straightforward like that, anyway. Too many fiddly transformations, not enough traditional rail shooting levels. I thought Star Fox Zero was great, and the hate for it is extremely exaggerated. No more stupid walking bits and bring back sane controls. Entrants needed to create Star Fox Zero fan art and post it on the game's Miiverse page. The demo includes the training mode from the full game, as well as the Star Fox Zero: The Battle Begins animated short.[32]. Again, I think it's only the simpler tech that doesn't hold up quite as well in the original Star Fox, and I think there's a lot of people like you that can't see past that. The few all range levels Star Fox 64 has add to the variety and excellence. Star Fox Zero[a] is a 3D scrolling shooter video game developed by Nintendo and PlatinumGames for the Wii U. It was tailormade for the use of the WiiU'S Gamepad so I don't think this would translate as well on the Switch. The lack of multiplayer is inexcusable. Star Fox has a history dating back to the SNES, with massively successful titles like Star Fox 64 – which was recently part of a massive Nintendo leak. I played through it and got some minimal satisfaction out of it. The game is controlled using the Wii U GamePad, with the left control stick used to maneuver the craft while gyroscopic controls can be used to aim weapons. Starlink has held me over for the time being. I’d love a HD port of star fox adventures. At least the graphics look nice.
The way you said that was confusing. This is a series that needs an Adventures-like entry, something that does things completely different.
Those stupid wonky controls keep me from defeating the final boss. Splatoon proves that perfectly. No more rehashes. Believe it or not, this is one of my most anticipated switch ports. I don't get the point of porting "Star Fox Zero." Without the failures, they would not have its success. Just make an HD conversion of the actually good Star Fox 64. See r/CasualNintendo for Nintendo fan art, remixes, jokes and memes.
For anyone who's talking about how Star Fox Zero's controls would prevent SFZ coming to Switch:There could an option to have Single Stick and Dual Stick controls, just like in Star Fox Assault and Panzer Dragoon Remake.
Overall, "Other M" is a much better game than "Star Fox Zero.". Make a new star fox. But we’ve seen too many rehashes of 64’s story.
All they would need to do is make boss fights go into first person and a Switch port would work fine. Star Fox Zero was designed in such a way that it couldn't be realistically ported without major changes to gameplay. @Strumpan Hey, "Metroid: Other M" actually has good gameplay for the majority of its players! Unless they do a rework of the controls for the game, I do not see this happening. That would be a fun rail shooter. @Strumpan I've replayed it countless times and only started going for the hidden routes and levels. for me, the game would not be better (at least not by much) without the double screen mess. I like the original and the 3DS remake. [18][19][20], In December 2014, Miyamoto stated that Star Fox Zero would be released before the new installment of The Legend of Zelda series in 2016. @JesWood13 if you didn’t even play it... how can you have an opinion about it? Mario Kart 8, Captain Toad, DKCTF, and most recently NSMBU. Sterling felt the game was "Masquerading as an innovative and all-new experience, Nintendo and PlatinumGames’ miserable adventure is actually a bare-bones space shooter utilizing a deliberately obtuse control scheme in order to mask the fact it’s nowhere near as interesting as it pretends to be. That's like saying Super Mario Bros Atari is better than Super Mario World - there is no other comparison. Nah. Yeah I think a remake and not a port is the only way to save this. Since then, Platinum has had a solid relationship with Nintendo, releasing the hit title Astral Chain last year. Now, a recent interview with the Head Producer of PlatinumGames, Atsushi Inaba, confirmed that the company has not been approached for a possible port on Switch. Such an underrated entry in the series IMHO.
Although the controls would need a massive overhaul, many Star Fox fans are still wondering what the chances are of it happening. SOMETHING FRESH AND DIFFERENT! But before a port of Star Fox Zero, I would much rather prefer a remake of Star Fox Assault, with more levels (roughly 5-10 more levels than there already is; an example is infiltrating the ruins of Andross's base on Venom to find the bioweapons program that they use against the Aparoids), tighter controls (for the on-foot and Landmaster portions), and the ability to play with others online, both in a co-op mode and the multiplayer mode. Or, team with Namco again and make something off an Ace Combat style, which would just mean a focus on All-Range mode style missions with objective phases. I could see Zero being fun if they fixed the controls. There is not much auto-aiming included (no more than your usual 3D third-person shooter), and the sense move is not at all overpowered.
